Local barge company captain discusses the bridge collapse at Eggar's Ferry on Kentucky Lake.  Captain Michael McBride discusses possible reasons for the crash.

According to other reports, the lights on the bridge were scheduled for maintenance Jan. 30, which may have contributed to the cause of the crash.  However, the ship's captain may have also been inexperienced, as he chose one of the lower elevation areas on the bridge to pass.

Well, he offers an explanation as to how it happened, but he is still wondering, as am I, why the captain selected this particularly low hanging span of the bridge to cross.
